Here We Go Again…

I wouldn’t blame you if you hadn’t noticed that MK Ultra was back in the news at the end of June because, with almost cartoonish irony, it slipped right by, mostly unnoticed.

I also wouldn’t blame you if you were unfamiliar with the shady operation altogether, because it’s been in hiding for quite some time and part of the devious beast’s pathology was (is?) to have you looking elsewhere and believing in nonsense, like a globally-administered sleight of hand, employed at the whistle of the proverbial ‘Man’.

I’m not going to pour over the entire hearing, I’ll catch you up on the history, tell you what the professionals think, summarize the juicy new details and then tell you what I think this means for our future.

In 1974, Seymour Hersh of The New York Times wrote a damning expose on the CIA and their antics in domestic spying and doping schemes, leading to a landslide of outrage and interest from both the people and (allegedly) the government alike.  The CIA have been accused (caught red-handed) of doing various unethical things such as experiments on unknowing subjects, murdering people, trafficking drugs, developing procedures and standardised practice methods to brainwash people, running seedy brothels and involving themselves with nefarious characters from around the globe like dictators, dealers and hippy musicians turned psychosis gurus from San Francisco, seeding unrest in left-wing political movements, destabilising economies, and more.

They have been repeatedly accused (unequivocally caught red-handed) of meddling with an inhuman number of pies, with an inexplicable number of fingers. Pies that did not reflect the outward moral stances, coffers and behaviours of the great US of A. This was always allegedly done under the banners of ‘research’ or ‘science’ or ‘national security’ but what it always was, quite clearly, is just dastardly, wacky, evil hijinks. However, this time there was proof. Or there was, at some point.

The investigation came a year too late.

When MK Ultra flew too close to the sun and the diabolical shenanigans they were engaging in started spilling out of the closet they were hiding them in, they covered it all up. Sidney Gottlieb, the mad scientist running the project, in conjunction with CIA director Richard Helms, upon his leaving of office in ’73, ordered the destruction of thousands of files. So many files it allegedly took four analysts two days to destroy them.

Anything that could be in anyway connected to MK Ultra, its drug research or the sub-projects contained within its wicked umbrella were shredded and burned.

They covered it up so quickly and violently that for the most part, even to this day, no one is entirely sure what it is they were really up to, where exactly they were up to it, or why.

A few years later, seven boxes of financial records that those two evil savants forgot to destroy were uncovered, proving without a shadow of a doubt that at least a miniscule glimpse of it all was irrefutably true.

These records revealed the existence of 149 sub-projects across 80 institutions and 185 ‘non-government researchers’ (deviants.)

The records also revealed that Allen Dulles, Head Witch Doctor, prior to Richard Helms, authorised a jaw-dropping $375,000 payment into the development of a hospital in which they could conduct experiments on unknowing subjects.

If the moral implications of that evidence aren’t the kind of thing that shocks you, if the insidious question of what they were doing and whether it worked is too palatable for you, $375,000 in the early ‘70’s works out to about $2,327,732.34 today. 

Nobody ever faced any real consequence for the blatant obstruction, perjury, conspiracy or corruption. Richard Helms was fined $2,000 dollars for an unrelated undisclosed lie he told under oath and retired with a full government pension while Sidney Gottlieb paid nothing, retiring to live out a reclusive, peaceful life writing shit poetry.

Now, here we are in 2026, a long time has passed since then, and we thought things had changed. Between the World Cup, the war with Iran or the suspicious death of Lindsey Graham, a lot has happened recently that people find more interesting, more exciting, more fulfilling, more historic or more important, but let me assure you, that’s what the people who will continue to never pay for the crimes that are now before the Senate once more want. The puppet-master is happy that once again, no one is really paying attention. It’s doubtful that anyone who held the crossbar for the marionettes back then is still alive today (apart from possibly Mitch Mconnell, for the time being) and this will all probably fizzle away, just like the last time, but what is clear, is this – the beast lives, it has returned for our children.

On June 30th, the House Oversight Committee on the Declassification of Government secrets, under a subtitle of ‘mind control and accountability’, took to the senate floor for a brief, yet substantially worrying, hearing.

In an opening statement by House Rep. Anna Paula Luna, we are told that the committee has gathered to investigate the possibility of historic crimes against humanity perpetrated by the CIA with its MK Ultra experiments. This comes after the discovery of another load of hidden boxes that had been squirreled away until now. According to Luna, new evidence of a ‘forgery programme’ contained within MK Ultra is now being reviewed for declassification.  It makes me feel slightly suspicious that these boxes seem to turn up every now and then, after so much effort was expended to erase them.

But such is the nature of the beast. 

Perhaps the warehouse they took The Ark of The Covenant to at the end of Raiders of The Lost ark had a spring clean and found these boxes underneath Tesla’s sixty boxes of missing research, next to the rotating card-stand holding Hitler’s postcards from Argentina and Christmas cards from Agartha.

The files are now under review by the committee for the declassification of national secrets, and apparently (allegedly?), they want some answers.

Invited to testify to the veracity and scale of MK Ultra’s tangled web of sickening tentacles, were two men who have spent a great deal of their lives investigating aspects of the conspiracy, researching and publishing books on the MK Ultra projects in some facet or another, and a woman who had spent a great deal of her life studying, researching and working in an entirely different field. This led to a few bizarre, awkward moments in which both the senators on the panel and the woman herself didn’t seem to know why she was there.

Steven Kinzer, Tom O’Neill and Elizebeth Ginexi, an author, an investigative journalist and a very highly qualified social scientist/drug researcher sat before the committee and brought their thoughts and findings to the table.

Steven Kinzer, author of Poisoner in Chief, a thrilling, troubling and excellently crafted book on Sidney Gottlieb and his circus, went to great lengths over a long span of time to expose the unethical programme and its crimes. In doing so, digging up many gritty chunks of truth that can’t be ignored or re-buried.  With his opening statement, Kinzer tells the committee that his book is the most exhaustive account of MK Ultra and its crimes, but even he barely broke the surface of its murky depths.

Tom O’Neill spent over 20 years researching the connections between the CIA and Charles Manson for his (outstanding) book Chaos, his determination and tenacity to know the truth about what happened back then uncovered many unsettling connections to the CIA and their quest to destroy freedom. In his opening statement, Tom O’Neill states that he believes when the CIA were brought to trial in the 70’s, they lied about the success, scale and true goals of the programme. They denied their experiments into mind control had ever been successful, that their objectives had never been achieved, but they had. There was more proof they were successful, than proof they were not.

While I can’t say I am familiar with any of Elizebeth Ginexi’s work, she seemed incredibly professional and knowledgeable in her appearance before the committee. At first, I assumed she would be asked questions pertaining to the long-term damages or implications of such grand scale, unethical drug experiments either for the public, or a society as a whole, or I thought maybe she had some insight into the research facilities these experiments had taken place in, but none of these things seemed to be the case.

Instead, she is quite rudely, abrasively questioned about the legitimacy of COVID vaccines by Nancy Mace and some forgettable guy whose greasy hair will not be remembered in the annals of history.  The opening statement takes a bit of a curveball in this case, when Dr. Elizebeth Ginexi explains she is present to discuss the political weaponisation of public health reform, voicing concerns about the NIH and the state of American healthcare before essentially being shh’d by Rep. Luna, who moves quickly on.

After this, the hearing spends a great deal of time rehashing the dark history of MK Ultra and the failure to bring them to justice when it mattered, so I won’t spoil it for you.

If you want to hear one skin-crawling secret after another, I urge you to climb down that rabbit-hole. If you want to know the seedy history of the CIA, there are many ways to do so and the hearing would be a digestible appetizer, but for now let’s focus on the modern-day implications of the hearing and the ghastly revelations that came from it.

Shockingly, it is revealed by Steven Kinzer that the very first wave of MK Ultra experimentation happened in a chalet in Germany in the 60’s. Post Nuremberg trials. These experiments were direct continuations of experiments that were conducted by the Nazis at Dachau, during World War II. If that wasn’t bad enough, the experiments were conducted by ex-nazi scientists, folded into the CIA by Project paperclip.

The nazi connections, unfortunately, don’t stop there. This hearing also revealed that the Surgeon General of the German Army, along with the chief biological weapons scientist for the SS, were among the first active agents within the CIA.

We also learn that Sidney Gottlieb, poisoner in chief, spent two years of his CIA service in Germany, for undisclosed, unrecorded reasons. Coincidentally (probably), there was a CIA safehouse in Germany, around that time, that locals referred to as ‘The Death House’, because of how many Germans went in, but didn’t come out. It was common knowledge, in the neighbourhood. There was even an article written about it, in the German publication ‘Der Spiegel’.

There is written proof, in the form of memos, sent to the German Security Chancellor.

It was reported to him and ignored.  Gottlieb seems to have been quite the frequent flyer, as the next revelation about him is that he was flown by private jet a few times a month to a brothel in which the CIA were running illegal experiments. While he was there, he was provided women, cocktails, and a room that likely didn’t have a mirror.

The chaos wasn’t confined to Germany, though the reasons they felt so comfortable in that environment deserve some heavy contemplation.

Among the numerous disturbing facts brought to light in the hearing, there were many domestic crimes against humanity, also.

During the hearing we see MK Ultra connected to the Manson Family, the JFK assassination, Jack Ruby’s sudden insanity, experiments on children and biological warfare. The reach of the insidious programme is astonishing, revealing prisons, free-clinics, rehabs, hospitals and various other unidentified cover-businesses working clandestinely to experiment on an unwilling public.  In a prison in Lexington, Kentucky, an entire segregated wing of the prison was submitted to 77 days of consecutive LSD experiments. Unknowing inmates were dosed with huge quantities of LSD for weeks, to what end? Who knows.

No records pertaining to the identities of the inmates, or their survival, remained. Essentially, we only know it happened because someone found the bill for it.

The corruption of the programme and the seedy things it invested millions of dollars in are unrelenting, when it is revealed, there were potentially thousands of locations under their control, with the potential victim count reaching the tens of thousands.

By the end of the hearing, the real question on the lips of everyone seems to be, did it ever stop?

Was the beast truly ever dead?

MK Ultra rearing its ugly, maniacal hydra-head again in 2026 is terrible news.

It could just be that an interchangeable intern in a white shirt and a blue tie stumbled across some boxes that happened to contain evidence of crimes the government committed 70 years ago, took them to their boss and this whole can of worms was opened up again. Doubtful, though. Right? What self-respecting criminal incriminates themselves after such a long time in the clear?

If there was anything Hydra-toppling in these new files, they would have been shredded incinerated and then spread over major cities of the continental US, like the rest of their dirty secrets are. No, I believe this generation is being introduced to the unfortunate errors of spooks long past for a much worse, less honest reason.

I believe it’s another soft-launch tactic, the drip-feed revelation play just like UFOs and NHI or sentient plasma or whatever they are calling them now, or all the other stuff they know about but don’t trust us savages enough to share. MK Ultra is in the news again the same way your new stepdad came over for dinner those couple of times before he moved right on in.
